We are located on the 3rd floor of the INN building, at the end that abuts the BC building:
From Lausanne, via Public Transit
If you take the metro from the Lausanne train station, use the M2 line (direction Croisettes) for one stop to “Lausanne-Flon” and then take the M1 line (direction Renens) 9 stops to “EPFL”. Budget ~30 minutes to reach us from Lausanne-Flon, ~45 minutes from the train station, and ~50 minutes from Ouchy.
If you’re staying at hotels Alpha-Palmiers or Continental, you can either walk up the steep Rue du Petit-Chêne and through the underpass to line M1 in Flon, or you can take the M2 line from the train station to Flon.
Metro tickets can be purchased from the machines in the station (Lausanne to EPFL counts as 2 zones, usually shown as “11+12”). Your hotel may also give you a free travel card. Once you arrive at EPFL, follow the green trail on the map above; you can also use the PocketCampus app or the campus map. For more information about the metro, see their website.
EPFL is also served by bus line 705. You can get a full map of all bus lines at their website (look for “Plan de réseau”). Schedule information for bus 705 can be found at the MBC website.
From Starling Hotel
As indicated by the red trail on the map above, take the pedestrian underpass toward Rolex Learning Center, then turn left and cross the street at the roundabout. Follow the sidewalk until you reach the IN buildings, and then turn right toward the INN building entrance.
From Geneva or Zurich Airport
If you’re flying in, Genève-Cointrin is the nearest international airport. By train, it takes ~45 minutes to reach Lausanne. Zürich Airport is about ~2.5 hours away by train. To get train information, see the Swiss Rail website.
Via Taxi
If you’re coming by taxi, it is easiest to tell the driver to take you to “Parc Scientifique à l’EPFL”, which will put you on Rue Daniel Colladon at the middle-bottom of the above map. If there are any complications, plug intersection Rue Daniel Colladon x Av. Jean-Rodolphe Perronet into the GPS. Taxis are available in front of the train station and can also be called by your hotel. If you wish to pay by credit card, let the cab company know at the time of your call.
Driving
If you’re coming by car, you can find parking space within the EPFL campus. The three parking places on the map above (the Rolex Learning Center, Esplanade, and Parc Scientifique) are quite large and close to DSLab.
